Samuel S. Marr is well respected in his professional practice and handles a diverse range of litigation cases with extensive experience in insurance and disability claims disputes, personal injuries actions and class actions, real estate litigation, wrongful dismissal actions, mortgage enforcement, condominium litigation, construction lien and Commercial Tenancy disputes. Sam is certified as a specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Sam has been lead counsel in several class actions, and has had carriage of a significant number of large litigation matters involving multiple parties, multiple counsel, and large monetary claims.
Sam has attended before all levels of Court in Ontario, and has significant trial experience, as well as experience in all aspects of pre-trial work including examinations for discovery, interlocutory motions, pre-trials and mediation.
In 2005 Sam was selected to conduct civil pre-trials as part of the Simplified Rules Pre-Trial Backlog Elimination Project.
Born in Toronto in 1961, Sam graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1986 and joined the firm when he was called to the Bar in 1988. Sam became a partner in 1992. Sam heads up the summer and articling programmes at Landy Marr Kats LLP.

Professional Activities
Sam is an Officer and Trustee of the Toronto Lawyers' Association. This prestigious organization has represented Toronto lawyers since 1885. Sam is a member of the Advocates' Society, the Canadian Bar Association Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Toronto Lawyers' Association and is Secretary of the Toronto Lawyers Association. Sam has been an instructor of civil litigation at the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Admission Course. Sam has lectured on civil litigation matters in continuing legal education programmes.
Community Involvement
Sam has been an active member of the Canadian Jewish Congress and is a former member of its Community Relations Committee
